Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a global leader in supply chain,
warehousing and transportation management solutions, today announced it
has been recognized as the "Most Admired Logistics Company" in China by
Modern Logistics News, one of China's most influential logistics
periodicals published by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing
(CFLP). The award was presented to Ryder during the International
Logistics and Supply Chain Development Forum in Suzhou, China.
Mr. Zhang Wei, Editor in Chief of Modern Logistics News, stated that
Ryder's receipt of the award is based on "the outstanding supply chain
management and customer service provided by Ryder globally, and
especially for its great contribution to the development of automotive
logistics expertise in China."
The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, China's only official
large-scale comprehensive logistics organization, was established with
approval of the State Council and is directly administered by the State
Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) of the People's Republic of China.
The main goals of the CFLP are to further the development of the
logistics industry in China, boost the development of the procurement
process for private- and public-sector organizations, and to assume the
tasks commissioned by the government.
"Ryder is honored to receive this recognition by Modern Logistics News,"
said Chris Woodward, Vice President and Managing Director of China for
Ryder. "We hold this publication and the China Federation of Logistics &
Purchasing in high regard, and look forward to sharing best practices
and operational excellence to further develop state-of-the-art logistics
capabilities in China."
