Ryder’s used commercial vehicle offer has been boosted by a £3m investment in a new site on the outskirts of Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. The 9 acre plot off the A38 will become the new Sales and Service Centre for Ryder’s used vehicle stock, providing easy access to a comprehensive selection of tractor units, trailers, rigid trucks, and LCVs that have reached the end of their first life lease and are available to purchase.
The newly centralised Used Vehicle Sales and Service Centre will complement Ryder’s existing used vehicle sales sites in Avonmouth and Rainham, Essex, offering significant parking for all types of used vehicle.
A dedicated team of six highly trained technicians will be based at the new Centre working in a state of the art, three-bay, workshop to ensure that all Ryder customers receive a quality used product that exactly matches their needs. All Ryder used trucks receive an MOT, a 90-point vehicle inspection, and a clean and valet.
Ryder’s standardised vehicle out-servicing operation enables customers to select a used vehicle that has had one owner, a full service history and comes with full compliance documentation. It is available from the new centre as well as from Ryder’s Avonmouth and Bradford locations.
Announcing this new investment, Nigel Martin, Used Vehicle and Asset Management Director at Ryder, commented: “Ryder is committed to providing customers with a comprehensive selection of high quality, trusted used vehicles that have been owned and maintained exclusively by Ryder. Our investment in this Midlands Used Vehicle Sales and Service Centre allows us to increase the size and scale of our service offering, and gives customers improved accessibility to our used asset stock. There is also scope to incorporate additional services in the future which will serve to enhance our customers’ purchasing experience.”
The Midlands Used Vehicle Sales and Service Centre will be supported by Ryder’s usedapproved.ryder.com online presence. This portal allows customers to select the level of vehicle quality they are looking for at a budget that meets their needs.
Martin concluded: “Truck reliability has been improving for some time, making a second hand vehicle a more viable proposition than ever before. Our out-servicing process means the trucks are given the highest level of attention and care, ensuring consistency of product for customers. This investment signals Ryder’s continuing focus on uptime, compliance, and customer choice.”
